How to Apply to the University of Niagara Falls Canada Through ApplyBoard
You apply to UNFC through the ApplyBoard platform. UNFC runs on a quarter system with 4 intakes a year, so you have several chances to start your program.
Before you apply, prepare the following documents:
- Valid passport (biographical page)
- Official bachelor's degree transcript
- English language test results (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Duolingo)
Submit your application through the ApplyBoard platform. Choose your program and term. Programs marked Popular on ApplyBoard can fill quickly, so apply as early as possible.
If you meet the requirements, UNFC will send an offer of admission. Review it carefully, including the deposit amount and deadline.
To be considered for a PAL, you complete UNFC's PAL validation process. This includes a readiness questionnaire with academic and financial documents, followed by a review by UNFC's PAL team. Once you pass, you receive PAL-eligibility confirmation.
Pay the deposit listed in your offer of admission. Confirm the exact amount, deadline, and payment method directly with UNFC Admissions. Once UNFC receives your deposit, it issues your Letter of Acceptance (LOA).
UNFC is a private university, so its master's students need a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) to apply for a study permit. This is different from public universities, where master's students became PAL-exempt from January 1, 2026. PAL issuance depends on Ontario's PAL allocation to UNFC, and paying a deposit doesn't guarantee a PAL. Once issued, your PAL appears in your UNFC applicant portal. If you're placed in the Graduate Foundation Program, you must complete it online before a PAL is issued.
Use your LOA, PAL, and payment receipt to apply for a Canadian study permit.
UNFC's two managed residences are off-campus, and students are responsible for finding and securing their own housing. Its Housing Services team supports your search and partners with 4Stay, Niagara Homestay, and Places4Students. Never pay a deposit before viewing a property or confirming the landlord's ownership.
