Oral Roberts University: Programs, Fees, and How to Apply

Before you apply, prepare the following documents:

• Biographical page of your valid passport
• High school transcripts covering the last three years (official transcripts can follow in your first semester)
• English language test results, if a waiver does not apply to you
• Completed Financial Guarantee Form (downloaded from the ORU financial guarantee page)
• Bank statements or a bank letter dated within the last six months, showing a balance of at least $41,140

Submit your application through the ApplyBoard platform. Choose your program and preferred intake. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply before July 1 for Fall entry and before November 15 for Spring entry. ORU typically responds within 48 hours of a complete application.

ORU sends admission decisions by email. Once you are admitted, you will be asked to create your ORU student email account. Check both your personal email and your new ORU email throughout the enrollment process, as ORU will use both to send important documents including your I-20.

Once admitted, submit your Financial Guarantee Form and bank statements to ORU. The I-20 (Confirmation of enrollment document required for your F-1 visa application) will be issued within 24 hours of ORU receiving all required documents. ORU will send your I-20 to both your personal email and your ORU student email.

Use your I-20 to apply for a US F-1 student visa (a non-immigrant visa that allows you to study full-time at a US university). Apply as early as possible after receiving your I-20, as US visa processing times vary by country and can take several weeks.

Official high school transcripts must be submitted within your first semester of studies at ORU. You can use ORU's Transcript Request Form to ask your school counselor to send documents electronically. The following submission methods are accepted:

No. Citizens of English-speaking nations, including Nigeria and Ghana, are automatically exempt from the English language requirement at Oral Roberts University. You do not need to submit an IELTS, TOEFL, or any other English test score. Students from non-English-speaking countries can also receive a waiver if they can document that all of their previous schooling was conducted entirely in English.

No. The SAT, ACT, and application essays are all optional at Oral Roberts University. Admission is based primarily on your high school transcripts from the last three years, with a minimum equivalent GPA of 2.6 required.

International students on an F-1 student visa are permitted to work on campus for up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during scheduled breaks.
