A missing math credit shouldn't be a dealbreaker for your student's study abroad dreams. Many high-quality programs across our global destinations do not require mathematics as a prerequisite.

To help you provide immediate, viable options to students without a strong math background, ApplyBoard’s search tool includes a specific filter to exclude these requirements. In this guide, we’ll show you how to use the "Prerequisite subject missing" filter to source programs your students can qualify for right now.

Step-by-Step: Sourcing Programs Without Math

  1. Log In: Sign into your ApplyBoard Recruitment Partner account.

  2. Access Search: From the left-hand navigation menu, select Programs & Schools.

  3. Open Advanced Filters: Click the blue All filters button on the search results page.

  4. Exclude Math: Scroll down to the Prerequisite subject missing section and check the box beside Math.

  5. Review Results: Your search results will refresh to display only programs where math is not a mandatory entry requirement.

The All filters sidebar is open on the right, showing the Prerequisite subject missing dropdown menu with a blue checkmark next to Math. In the background, search results for foundation programs at Washington State University and the University of Law are visible.

Recruiter Tip! If a student is set on a specific field that usually requires math (like Business or certain Sciences), using this filter will also help you find "Pathway" or "Foundational" programs. These allow students to start their international education while taking an introductory math module on-campus to bridge the gap!
