Use the Prerequisite subject missing filter in ApplyBoard Search to find programs that do not require mathematics as an entry requirement — giving students without a math background immediate, viable options.

How to Filter for Programs Without Math

  • Log in to ApplyBoard and go to Programs & Schools in the left navigation panel.
  • Run a search using your standard filters — destination, program level, or field of study.
  • Click Advanced filters to open the full filter panel.
  • Scroll to the Prerequisite subject missing section and check the box beside Math.
  • Your results will refresh to show only programs where math is not a mandatory entry requirement.

ApplyBoard Search advanced filters panel open on the right side with the Prerequisite subject missing dropdown expanded, showing a checkmark next to Math. Search results are visible in the background.

Tip! If your student is interested in a field that typically requires math — like Business or certain Sciences — this filter will also surface Pathway and Foundation programs. These allow students to begin their studies while completing an introductory math module on campus, bridging the gap toward their target program.

Note: The Prerequisite subject missing filter works best alongside other filters. Combine it with destination, program level, and field of study for the most relevant results. For a full list of available filters, see the Search Filters complete guide.
